Topic for this collection was “landscapes dominated by clouds,” with a style intent of film photography. For these three images I did an extensive amount of editing in Photoshop, trying to see how far I could push them beyond the basic foundation that Midjourney provided. When using Midjourney I struggle constantly with two things: resolution and detail (without AI artifacts). To achieve both, these images were output from Midjourney as both Creative and Subtle upscales, and then combined to get the best parts of both and fed into Gigapixel to upscale to 4x. And then Photoshop ensued — lots and lots of Photoshop. Each image took between 8 and 12 hours to fully process (admittedly time-boxed for the sake of science). The verdict on whether or not these feel sharp and naturally detailed will have to come from the viewer.
